LED lights or light emitting diode is a semi-conductor light source. It was invented in 1927 by a Russian named Oleg Vladimirovich Losev. Initially and
commercially, LED lights were first used as replacements for incandescent and neon indicator lamps, and in seven-segment displays but now, LED lights can
be placed in any where lights can possibly be. From Christmas lights
to shoes up to false eyelashes, you name it, LED lights can be on it. The scientifically-capable can explain it a deeper and technical terms but for those
of us who just can’t, LED lights simply are the most practical lights in the market.

According to McKinsey’s 2011 lighting market report, the estimated global revenues from the LED lighting market will grow at 30% per annum, amounting to almost 65 billion Euros (RM227bil) by 2020 almost 60% of the overall lighting market. And according to the Lighting the Clean Revolution, an average of just 40% energy savings were unlocked by LED’s across the world it would save $129 billion in electricity cost, the total global wind and photovoltaic markets combined, and 670 million tons of carbon dioxide.
No wonder why LED lights have a bright future. Not only does it provide sufficient lighting but it also reduces the money beings spent for such. If LED’s reach their full potential, they could almost single handedly eliminate lighting as a major source of global emissions. However, the consumers must always be aware of the possible substandard LED lights that may be produced and sold all around the globe. Instead of creating a positive and helpful image, it may be otherwise and can be the danger of the LED market’s fast rise. But that’s another story. With good endorsement and ample and quality production, LED lights will surely be a hit.
