It’s starting to get warmer. The Christmas breeze is slowly leaving our beloved country and the HEAT of summer is surely coming your way and mine.

summer vacationBut before you schedule the great get-away summer adventure of yours, we all know that summer could cost more on electrical bills than the previous season. So while the International School Manila Tuition Fee consistently rises that doesn’t mean your electrical bills should! Of course that’s not all to remember this summer, while at it, why don’t we run a little check-list on matters more important: home safety. As you know, nothing kills a vacation than an emergency at home.

Do you have an aircon timer?

Due to excessive heat outside, most of us would like to cool off inside our homes where there is good air conditioning. Problem is, you might lose track of time and regret this once your electricity bill arrives. Install aircon timers so that you may control the number of hours you’d like your aircon on. You can also have a schedule every day with Meiji’s 8 programmable-options-24-Hour Timer.

Is there a working fire extinguisher at home?

Make sure that you have one in a practical place and yet is out of reach for your children. Don’t neglect to inform the members of your family how to use the equipment when necessary.

Have you installed smoke detectors at home?

Only get ones that alarm LOUD enough to wake you up even if you’re asleep. Or when you’re not around the house, audible enough to alarm the neighbors. Remember also to check or test your smoke detectors every month and to check battery replacements every 6 months to a year.

Are you extension cords tacked up or coiled?

Do not place extension cords under carpets or mats to avoid it being stepped on or the wires being damaged.

Have you covered unused outlets?

Children are particularly fond of inserting their fingers into outlets. So to avoid grounding and/or burns, cover unused outlets with safety plugs or better yet with blank plates.

Have you checked for overloaded equipments?

Plug only appliances that are within the capacity of your socket outlets and that also of your extension cords.

Are all major appliances grounded?

Appliances, extension cords and outlets with ground are to be prioritized to promote safety especially with children and women in the house. Remember that the ground tolerance for women and children are significantly lower than that of males.

Are electrical cords unplugged when not in use?

When you know you’ll be out for some time, it is wise to unplug electrical cords. This is a sure way to avoid complications especially when rats and other pests might be taking over once you’re away.

Have you planned your emergency escape?

Practice AIRCON TO FAN TIMERa drill with your family on where to go and what to do in case of emergencies. Make sure that you own an emergency ladder and that the nearest fire and police stations can be found beside the telephones.

Have you considered an aircon to fan timer?

Having one is not only practical and useful but also very affordable. Now, you don’t have to worry once the aircon shuts off because your fan will automatically turn on.

Don’t waste your summer locking yourself in your rooms! Get out and enjoy the heat knowing that your home is safe and cool whenever and however you want it.

all day everydayManaging sensitive appliances at home such as your refrigerator, home theater system, computers and air conditioning units can be too complicated. Some of us even require some appliances to be  turned off and on in a specific time schedule. Something that can be confusing if you would instruct your child or the household help to do. Also, it can be dangerous.

As stated, electrical surges occur in our homes unexpectedly. Many times unnoticed. And your appliances at home get are our shock absorbers. When not managed properly or neglected, these get short circuited, damaged or burned.

But it’s impractical to stay home everyday to monitor these appliances. It would also be hard for you to manage them one by one; not to mention a waste of time. This is what Meiji Timer is for. Home AppliancesIt is a 24-hour timer that can work for you all day long. Now it can manage your appliances and take care of turning them on and off on your desired time. Yes, you got it right! It is not just an ordinary timer for air conditioning units. You may use it for other appliances as long as it is within 20A capacity.

What makes this more amazing is that it has eight programmable timeraircon timer options which allows you to set eight different schedules for your gadget. Say, for instance, you have different routines for each day of the week that requires you to have different settings each day. Through the help of this timer, you can program all the settings for the different days at once and yes, they will take care of the rest.

Voltage Protector

Also, this timer comes with a very effective voltage protector. So now, you no longer have to worry about voltage spikes and drops because Meiji timer (TC-V002) will protect your appliance. This means that if a particular appliance goes beyond the maximum or the minimum voltage set, it will cut-of its power to protect it from damaging your appliance and unit.

Apart from these, Meiji timers also have a universal outlet in front which makes it very versatile and useful even when you are traveling. Meaning, you do not even have to worry if the device you want to connect on it would not be compatible with it. It also has parallel plugs which come with a ground on the other side.timer

Are you tired of  sudden changes in temperature that force you to switch from one appliance to another in the middle of the night? Meiji has something for you.

Imagine this:   One night, you go to bed thinking you could easily fall asleep. You are already too tired but an hour has already passed and still you’re awake! It’s weird because the air conditioner has already been on for awhile now.  And then you start feeling uncomfortable.  Soon after, you begin to feel HOT AND IRRITATED because your air conditioning unit already switched off and still you’re awake. Just several minutes more, you feel sweat bursting out of your skin;  now making you more uncomfortable and annoyed.

At first, sure, you try not to bother simply because you understand that it is just one simple  reminder that you are in the Philippines. It’s one thing to live with. However, as minutes go by, you think there must be something I can do about this.

Here’s the thing:  You do not have to worry about saving electricity and because of it, compromise the comfort of your sleep! Meiji’s Aircon to Fan Timer (TC-V003)  can do the job for you.

Designed for convenience

AIRCON TO FAN TIMERThis device allows you to connect both your air conditioning unit and electric fan in just one device. And through its timer, you can even set the specific number of hours and minutes the air conditioning unit would work before it gets deactivated and before the device switches to fan.

This just means that you no longer have to endure all the drama entailed by the crazy temperature level shifts from all day.

Plus, it is also very easy to use. All you have to do is plug the two appliances to this device, set the timer, and you are ready to have a good night’s rest. Yes, without needing to get up in the middle of your slumber or waking up dripping in your own sweat.

For holidays or long weekends, you may also opt to just use ‘COOL’ so that your unit won’t turn your air conditioning unit off.  This way, you get to rejuvenate and relax at home. In cool days such a s September to December, you may choose to program your Meiji Aircon to Fan timer to ‘FAN’. This way your fan is off.

NO more hassle whether its during the day or at night! 😀

For the perfectionist, everything must be put in a system. For the one who loves technology, he or she takes advantage of what it has to offer. And at home, there is one system you can’t ignore at home, it would be one run with timers. In fact I can present to you three precise purposes for you to consider installing timers into your home.

SecurityTimer with Voltage Protetector

They say that the best way to keep your house secure is by keeping the lights on. It serves as a deterrent from bad elements by creating an impression that people are inside. But we can’t really be home all the time and sometimes we even stay out late than expected. And as a solution to this dilemma, timers can be installed to make sure that an illusion of people being present at home is created. In our home, we actually do this as our lights are set to open at night time so that we can leave the house with the assurance that enough lighting is available.

Systematic

Yes, timers are perfect for someone who likes everything in the proper order and time especially if the busyness doesn’t really allow memory to remember a show to watch on TV or a radio show to listen to at a certain time. It can also help you if you want to use your lights or your television as your alarm. My parents once told me that my grandmother used timers to keep the house alive at the times she needed to as well. So if you need everything following the proper timing, you can’t go wrong with using timers.

Savings

Leaving an electric fan open for the whole night even though it gets colder during the early morning will cost you a waste in electricity. Having your lights on at 7 am just because no one is still awake at that time is money to be spent. Well timers, as long as it is properly configured can save you actually a lot of cash. Though you may not notice it at first and see the hassle and early capital of installing timers, in the long run, this is actually the best choice to save a buck.
